Our History

How it all began

World Grace Foundation was founded in 2023 by U.S. Navy veteran Laurence Chia, whose own journey of service and transition to civilian life inspired a mission of healing. Having experienced the challenges many veterans face—especially those living with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)—Laurence discovered the power of music as a tool for resilience, emotional recovery, and connection. What began as a vision to support fellow veterans has grown into a community-driven movement of hope and healing.

Where we are today

Music has the power to reach where words cannot. Research shows that music therapy for veterans with PTSD can reduce anxiety, improve emotional well-being, and build resilience. At World Grace Foundation, we use music not only as therapy but as a way for veterans to reconnect—with themselves, with others, and with a sense of purpose. Whether through learning an instrument, writing songs, or playing together, music becomes a safe and transformative space for healing.

Since our founding, World Grace Foundation has touched the lives of veterans across Florida and beyond. Through individual and group music therapy programs, we’ve helped veterans reduce stress, rebuild confidence, and find peace in community. With the support of donors, volunteers, and mentors, our reach continues to grow, creating opportunities for veterans to thrive beyond service. Every note played is a step toward recovery, and every story shared is a reminder that healing is possible.
